My Mission

Hello and welcome to my site! My name is Drew Crix, and I have been playing piano for over 15 years. I have taken every moment throughout my piano journey to learn and develop as a musician. My passion for teaching has stemmed from my belief in the importance of paying it forward and the excitement I have watching others develop into musicians through my teaching.

My teaching philosophy is centered around three core values: foundational skills, enjoyment, and continual growth. I believe in building strong musical fundamentals—such as technique, ear training, and musical expression—to give students the tools and confidence to play with creativity and purpose. Through my five plus years of experience teaching music to youth, I have learned to foster a joyful and encouraging environment. Learning piano, like anything else, is never a straight line. I encourage my students to embrace the process and small wins of developing as a musician and the bigger results will come.

My mission is to make the lessons both productive and enjoyable—whether students would like to pursue classical piano with Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum or simply learn to play for fun. I aim to inspire confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love for music in every student. I look forward to being apart of your step to becoming a better musician!

I understand that every person learns best in their own unique way. I focus on adapting my lessons to fit the learning styles of each individual, as well as possible. I have significant experience teaching people with different learning styles, including youth with special needs.
